The NIU firing points to many assumptions and inferences. There appears to be no motive, no premeditated plan with any intention. Then what was it that pushed the student to such a heinous crime? The perpetrator of this crime must have been under tremendous stress or some agony, caused by anger, frustration against imaginary harm and injustice. Could blaming others for his failures, wrong doings probably become his nature and he constantly lived in the past, a tape recording repeating in his mind? The outburst of unreal thoughts, miseries explode intense emotions which probably pushed him to a place where he pumps all his explosive emotions from the barrel of guns to relieve himself of these explosive emotions, but the eventual emergence of sense leads him to commit suicide.

It is not uncommon to see people who toil under severe anger and hatred towards a person /persons whom they consider as wrongdoers or wretched persons, causing harm to them. Such persons also are on the same footing as the person shooting his emotions through the barrel of a gun. But the only medium they have is to pump out their ill feelings, explosive thoughts through verbal abuse. Their abuses, curses and hostile actions make the targeted person or persons go mad and become a constant victim of these attacks. In the former case neither the gunman nor many of the victims are alive. But in the latter case, both are living, the hostile person continuing to inflict injuries on minds of the victims.

Therefore remedy in this situation has to be found to save both from mental distress. The targeted person has to develop strength of mind which leads to tranquility and balance of mind, unaffected by invading neurotic shouts and accusations of the so called aggrieved person.

How do you save yourself from inroads of emotional disturbances and how do you manage stress?
