This sounds so ridiculous, but that is exactly what the Iranian ambassador to Mexico claims. According to him, the bullets discovered in her body are not found in Iran and are generally used by CIA and other “terrorist” groups. The ambassador also claims this is a common tactic the CIA uses in many countries to create unrest.
Neda Sultan has become a symbol of the protest in Iran and is being considered a martyr. People all over the world are holding ceremonies as a tribute to her. A video of her minutes after she was hit by a bullet to her chest shows her struggling to breathe and blood coming out of her mouth and ears. That video has gone viral and has been watched thousands of times around the world.
There are stories that the Iranian government is harrassing her family and might have driven them from their home.
I truly hope that Neda, her family and the people of Iran get justice.
Dr. Jerri Fitzgerald dies 10 years after being rescued from the South Pole

Dr. Jerri Fitzgerald was at a research camp in the South Pole when she discovered a lump in her breasts. Unfortunately for her it was already winter and the camp was closed to new arrivals. A rescue was impossible due to the extremely harsh weather conditions at the South Pole.
Being the only doctor at the camp, she performed a biopsy on herself and diagnosed it as cancer. Then she administered chemotherapy to herself with anti-cancer drugs air dropped by an US Airforce plane in hazardous blackout weather conditions. She had to get help from a welder and a machinist at the camp to adminster medications to herself through an IV.
It’s truly amazing how humans are able to demonstrate such strength in such dire circumstances.
She was rescued in a daring rescue when the weather finally got better (temperatures were still below 50) that October. She chronicled her experience in a best selling book called “Ice Bound: A Doctor’s Incredible Battle for Survival at the South Pole”.
Dr. Fitzgerald was definitely a brave person. She tied today at the age of 57, almost 10 years after her rescue from the South Pole. Her cancer had been in remission until 2005, when it finally came back to claim her.
Ed McMahon is dead at 86

Ed McMahon died today at the ripe old age of 86. He was best known as the side kick of Johnny Carson and the relationship between the two lasted for over 30 years. That’s longer than most marriages last! Even his own and that of Johnny Carson did not last longer.
The onscreen comic timing between Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon is legendary. One time, he apparently showed up drunk on the show and Johnny Carson handled it so well that it became one of the funniest episodes. He was said to have battled with his addiction to alcohol all his life.
In addition to the Tonight Show, I also remember Ed McMahon as the spokesman for American Family Publishers sweepstakes.
In recent times, Ed McMahon had apparently come on hard times due to a neck injury preventing him from working. His Beverly Hills home was said to be almost foreclosed before a deal was worked out. Even Donald Trump had stepped in to help. I did not know that he was also an ace fighter pilot during the Korean war.
He will definitely be missed and remembered for a long time to come.
Drug raid on mayors house, dogs shot

The home of Berwyn Heights, Maryland mayor Cheye Calvo was raided by drug enforcement agents recently. During the raid, the agents shot the mayors two dogs and roughed up his mother in-law.
Apparently, the enforcement agents were following a packet that was addressed to his wife and contained drugs. Later on the mayors family was cleared of all wrong doing. The mayor was the victim of a scheme to ship drugs to different addresses and intercept it before the home owner gets the package.
The mayor has filed a lawsuit against the drug enforcement agency for not doing some ground work before busting his door down and shooting his dogs.
I certainly think the mayor is right, the agents could have done some research on whose house it was, was there a history of packets being delivered to that address, etc.

If you are a criminal, Beware! Google is watching.
A Dutch teenager who had been robbed recently saw himself and the two muggers who had robbed him in a Google street view photo map. The faces had been blurred by Google, but when Police got copies of the original photos from Google they were able to identify the 24 year old Dutch twin brothers who had mugged the 14 year old of about $230 in cash. They were promptly arrested by the Dutch police and are awaiting trial.
According to Google, the street view photos are taken by a camera mounted on a car and luckily for the teenage there was a car on that street taking photos right before the mugging.
