Former Massachusetts governor, Republican Mitt Romney finally called it a day today in his quest for becoming the President of the United States. Romney had always positioned himself as a conservative choice and had garnered the support of Republican conservatives across the nation. His supporters were not happy to hear of his decision, though he claimed that he was dropping out to unite his party.

Mormon by faith, Romney was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 12, 1947. Besides serving as the governor of Massachusetts, Romney was also the CEO of venture capital firm Bain Capital.
He has five children, all boys ranging from 27 to 38 years of age. A book by Hugh Hewitt called “A Mormon in the White House? 10 Things Every American Should know about Mitt Romney” had become popular in recent times.

After Romney has dropped out, Senator John McCain has emerged as the choice of the GOP though Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul are still in the race.
