Man deliberately infected 6 women with HIV

A north Texas man infected 6 women with HIV and other STD by having unprotected sex with them. He had been warned by his doctors against engaging in risky sexual behavior. He is likely to face life in prison. What’s interesting about this case is that the prosecution is likening HIV as a deadly weapon. HIV reduces life expectancy by at least 10 years and the quality of life even further. So if someone deliberately ‘attacks’ you with HIV, is it similar to attack with a deadly weapon? The defense argued that it is similar to a swine flu patient not covering his mouth. I don’t think it is the same. The swine flu patient is not engaging in risky behavior to deliberately infect others. If he is, then it could be similar and should probably be treated the same way. What about someone who has Hepatitis type C and engages in unprotected sex? That should proably fall under the same category. So, in essence, disease or a deadly virus is a deadly weapona and anyone who uses it should be punished. It’s the same as a bio terrorist attack.
