Italian cruise ship foils another Pirate attack!

Just read in the news that an Italian cruise ship captain asked the ship security to fire back at Somali pirates attempting to hijack the cruise ship. The Pirates retreated after the ship took the offensive action. The incident happened about 180 miles off of Seychelles. The areas with rampant piracy are the Somalia cost and Gulf of Aden.

This incident goes to prove that more ships need to carry their own fire power and should be authorized to use deadly force if necessary to defend themselves. Once the pirates realize that the ships could be armed, the number of pirate attacks should automatically drop due to fear of getting outgunned.
